Volunteer Poster - "Living With Cancer"

We have a new Volunteer Poster, "Living With Cancer" (Power Point, 179kb). Please feel free to print it out and display it.

The Project

West Essex Macmillan Cancer Support and Information Service aims to improve the quality of life for West Essex families affected by Cancer.

How Can You Help?

By giving as little as 2 hours a week to help the project.

How Do I Volunteer?

If you would like to know more about becoming a volunteer then please go to Contact Us. We will be happy to answer any queries you may have about how to become a volunteer, and what it involves.

What Will Volunteers Do?

Make the most of whatever talents each volunteer has to offer. We need volunteers to help in the office, to help with administration and manning the telephone. There are also opportunities to provide practical help and friendship to patients, their carers and families.

Volunteering offers opportunities to:

  • Meet people, make new friends.
  • Be actively involved with your local community.
  • Improve the quality of other people's lives.
  • Gain new skills and interests.
  • Make good use of your existing skills and expertise.
  • It can also help you to enter, or re-enter the job market.

Who can be a Volunteer?

Anyone can be a volunteer, formal qualifications are not necessary. Volunteers must be aged over 18 years of age, and willing to offer a regular time commitment - usually a minimum of 2 hours per week.
